My Summer Vacation (Part Four)

The last part of the vacation-series takes us to an abandoned fortress in the middle of a small forest, located on the Adriatic Coast near Šibenik.

It is unusual because of many things. First, no one charges you anything to see it, which is highly unusual for a tourist spot. Second, there are almost no road signs to get you there. You have to rely on your orientation skills and ask locals. And third, once you discover it and climb on top of it the real fun begins. Because, at first you think this is it, but soon you discover the big metal door that leads you into the dark abyss full of secret passages, chambers and solitary rooms.

Hopefully you'll enjoy them, because the St. Nikola Fortress you're about to see was one of the highlights of the whole stay.
